See pictures from previous years.
-
When you pick up you packages at your starting point, You will be required to prove that you have a valid Motorcycle License or you cannot participate.
-
(THIS IS FOR EVERYONE'S SAFETY)
-
HELMETS ARE REQUIRED DURING THE ENTIRE RIDE EVERYWHERE.
-
(You need to wear a HELMET 100% of the time)
-
NO FLAGS LARGER THEN 2'x3' (this means no 3'x5' or larger flags)
-
(THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE..)
-
If you are riding UNSAFELY the police will pull you from the ride and you will receive no refund.
-
SAFETY IS NUMBER ONE.
-
-
Service your bike before the ride. Check Tires, Belts, Lights, Brakes, Oil, Filters, Cables, Battery, and anything else we missed. IF any of these items are in Question Fix it before the ride.
-
We will pick up broken down bikes and take them to our next dealership stop.
-
Police Departments:
-
The Police Officer's will be blocking intersections and will need to move back to the front.
-
They will be passing on the left - PLEASE show them some courtesy and give them as much room as you can. They will try and let you know with horns or sirens - they are not showing off - they are trying to give you some warning.
-
The police will also be moving past the group asking riders to tighten up as they proceed back towards the front. Riders need to be aware of police passing them.
-
Fueling:
-
Firemen and Volunteers will be assisting in the fueling process at all stops.
-
Doing this will improve the safety around fueling.
-
Please have plenty of $1.00 bills because staff will be running the pumps collecting payments to streamline paying and fueling.
-
Once you are fueled you will be directed toward the staging area for the next leg.
-
Speed:
-
This ride will travel at the posted speeds.
-
We need riders to be aware of each other and close in the gaps.
-
We cannot have huge gaps.
-
The procession will start out at 25-30mph and will gradually increase the speed as the entire group reaches each increase. Doing this will improve the entire ride for all.
-
Gaps:
-
If there becomes a large gap between you and the bike in front of you.
-
Do not QUICKLY speed up.
-
Gradually increase your speed and let off the throttle before you have to hit the breaks.
-
The object is to have everyone traveling at the same speed in a smooth and constant flow.
-
We do not want riders speeding up just to lock up the brakes.
-
All bikers need to regularly check for gaps behind them and adjust their speed to reduce the gaps.
If this is done consistently from the first bike back, you will find there will be very few gaps. -
In a road ride, gaps are most often created by forward bikes pulling away from rearward bikes - not from rearward bikes slowing down.
-
Traveling
-
2-second interval between you and the bike in front of you
-
1-second interval between you and the bike to your oblique
-
this was taking from several motorcycle riding clubs and orgs.
-
I suggest a few tips: 1) learn to ride with others by riding with others 2) if you don't want to ride with others, then be prepared to get lined up at the back of the pack.
